I went over to the Smashing Pumpkins' Myspace Page to hear the new track (Doomsday Clock) from their new album (Zeitgeist). Holy Crap! It RAWKS. I actually may be tempted to buy a SP album for the first time since Melloncollie! Their site also has "Where Boys Fear To Tread" from the aforementioned album, and I'd forgotten how much that band could bring the rock when they really put their minds to it.

One of my ex-gf's was a HUGE Billy Corgan fan. Not just SP, but Billy Corgan in general. She went on pilgrimages to see him. I went once, to Chicago. It was a great show, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't share the same level of obsession she did. After that, I left it up to her to go on her trips, and actually, that was not coincidentally the beginning of the end for us. The obsession got to be a little much, and it was a bit of a sticking point. We were never destined for 'forever' (obviously!), and it started to become apparent around that time.

Speaking of proper rock bands, the new video/single (Sick Sick Sick) from Queens Of The Stone Age was on TV the other day, and WOW, another rock band that has me thinking about picking up the album. I know I'm super late to the party on this band, but nothing before now has grabbed me by the crotch and said "Listen to ME!". Or maybe it's me. I've been listening to melodic rock stuff for a couple of years now(The Dears, Death Cab For Cutie, Editors, Interpol), and had forgotten the visceral feeling that good pounding rock gives you.

Max was immediately enraptured and was wiggling back and forth as he watched. He also did this for a Linkin Park concert (yet another band that brings the melody to the rock, and whom I can't join the hipsters in hating). The boy is a rocker-in-training, methinks. Don't worry! No mullets!

In other news, I just found out you can put LOTS of songs up on music profiles on myspace. So, I can put up everything from +nurse, zoolab, and create a profile for Collider! Isn't that just what you always wanted? heh ok, well, I'm doing it anyways! I'm still proud of all that music and I want to share it with whoever wants it!

Yer way late for QotSA. Give a listen to Lullabies to Paralyze; total cock rock. I'm a big fan of Medication and I Never Came.

Linkin Park's new album is crud. Especially coming off of the the single Feint from the previous album, which has the heaviest bridge known to man.
